Snowmobiles are unfortunately stolen often in Alaska. New technologies, such as the Ski-Doo DESS (Digital Encoded Security System) are helping, but too many snowmachines do not have this level of security yet. And even a DESS equipped sled can be put in a truck and carted off! This page is offered as a free service by Alaska Mining & Diving Supply to help combat snowmobile theft in Alaska. Please report stolen sleds to the webmaster@akmining.com and they will be listed here free of charge. All we ask is that we be notified if the machine is located, so we can remove the listing. Listings will be removed in 90 days unless we are asked to continue them.
Does that deal on that used snowmobiles seem to good to be true? Then check here first and make sure you are not purchasing stolen property!

My 2004 black Firecat was stolen around Christmas 2005. There is a $500.00 reward for information leading to the identification of the thief and the return of the machine. I did receive some helpful information but am still without the machine. It was last seen in late March of 2006. The decals and windshield had been removed and it has probably been altered further. The thief is a white male approximately 24-26 years of age, somewhere between 5’6 and 5’10 with a stocky build. The thief was headed toward Noyes slough in Fairbanks. Apparently he operated the machine on Noyes slough as well as Chena Hot Springs Rd. If you have seen this machine or have any information it would be greatly appreciated if you would call 907-978-6852.

2006 Blue Polaris Switchback 900. stolen from 2000 E black bear drive in Wasilla. Key is not in it. last 4 digits of the Vin is 2950. The sled is like brand new only about 100 miles on it. only identifying blemish is on the venting in the front of the tub has a good size hole in it where I had a stick go through it. Hard to see though. Also in the pictures I've found of the sled at Polaris have the 900 sticker at the bottom of the sticker set on the hood, but i don't believe mine had that for some reason. If found please call Justin @350-4843
