Steve's Notes - This is a great little detector! I like it so much I purchased one for my father for his birthday. If a person is interested in owning one detector primarily for locating gold nuggets, but also to do some coin and jewelry detecting, then the Tesoro Lobo is an excellent choice.
My own use of the Lobo surprised me. In theory, as a 17.5 kHz detector, it should only have moderate sensitivity to small gold nuggets. The fact is, that the Lobo's MAXBoost sensitivity setting allows it to detect smaller gold nuggets than I expected. This allows the machine to set for higher sensitivity than would be the norm in most detectors. This can result in erratic operation and more false signals in some cases. In my local area (Anchorage, Alaska) however, the ground iron content is low and hot rocks are not a problem. The Lobo functioned smoothly at it's highest sensitivity settings.

This instrument is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship as long as it is owned by the original consumer purchaser. This warranty is not transferable and is valid only if the warranty registration card has been completed and mailed within 10 days of purchase.
TESORO will, at its option, repair or replace any instrument covered by this warranty, without charge, except for transportation charges, at its factory in Prescott, Arizona.
This warranty excludes batteries, damage caused by leaky batteries, cable breakage due to flexing on body mount units, and wear of the searchcoil housing. Also excluded are instruments which have been abused, altered, or repaired by an unauthorized party.
